Zirkel Genealogy

I’d be glad to connect with anyone about Zirkel genealogy or other names in my family tree. Specifically, my branch of Zirkels came to New York from the town of Höntrop, part of the town of Bochum in district Wattenscheid, in the Ruhr valley of Germany. If you have a Gustav Adolph Zirkel (born very roughly 1890) or Gustav Zirkel (1903-1970) August Zirkel (b. 1910) in your family tree, from that part of Germany, I’d like to talk genealogy with you.

I am not related to the many Zirkels who have settled in Illinios, Kansas and other mid-US areas, as far as I know.

Other names in my family tree would include:

  • Wilhelm Jablonowski (Also from Höntrop, probably born in Poland)
  • August Rinnagel, who was a Gemeindediener from Westheim, Germany (“Forst Westheim”?), 1872-1957
  • Any Rinnagel or Dürr from Westheim, Germany
  • Paul Koegler (or Kögler) from Bodenheim am Rhein, Germany
  • Kirschenheiter from Alsace-Lorraine

If you’re interested in family history, you might enjoy exploring a genealogical web site called Geni, it’s free, fun, and fascinating. It’s like Facebook for your family. You can find all my known ancestors on that site. In fact, the best way to connect with me on genealogical issues is to create a profile on Geni, and contact me through that site.
