Ken Zirkel is a graphic designer and photographer living in the southern New England region of the US. He has been doing photography as a serious hobby since 1984. He got his start with serious photography when he was the photo editor of the his college yearbook in 1988. Currently Ken is a contributor to iStockphoto and Getty Images.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and a Master’s degree in graphic design from the School of Design (now called College of Design) at North Carolina State University. He has worked at various graphic design companies, both print and web, in New York City. Since 2000, his day job has been to provide Web site design and support to institutions of higher education.
Ken has two children, one wife, a kayak, a canoe, and various bicycles and cameras. His recent obsession has him visiting and photographing lighthouses across the northeast, and wherever else he can find them.
