Son’s graduation

Son celebrated a “graduation” today, he moves up from preschool to, um, prekindergarten. The theme of the graduation was “Flag Day,” and all the kids uber-patriotically sang “It’s a Grand Old Flag” and such.

Lucky day

Above, Daughter got her face painted at a local fundraiser festival. One of the raffle prizes at the festival was a gift certificate to Prestigious Art School, equivalent to a free three-week summer class (which costs a pretty penny, believe me). Daughter’s recital

Three grandparents came from many miles away to see Daughter’s dance recital. She performed with her dance class one ballet number, one jazz, and one tap. Son reads on his own

In the past few weeks, Son’s reading skills have soared. He isn’t afraid to tackle certain books on his own (with a little help). He can read almost the entirety of “Turtle and Snake and the Christmas Tree,” most of “George Shrinks,” and a good part of “Chicka-Chicka Boom Boom” without help.
